Wild Weekends

January 08, 2009

I'm cold.  And it's likely that I'll stay this way for a few more months.  So I may as well make the best of it and find fun, indoor stuff to do until the sun once again shines on us and warms our selves.

Check out the Coolidge Corner Theatre in Brookline for hip music by Bed Rudnick and Friends.  With a combination of musical styles from country to bluegrass, everybody will love these tunes.  Since their first CD release in 2000, this upbeat group has been entertaining children and adults alike.  Saturday, January 10th, 10:30am.  290 Harvard Street, Brookline.

Celebrate the Japanese New Year at the Peabody Essex Museum!  Performances, crafts, storytelling and workshops will be offered for kids of all ages.  Create nengajo, or Japanese New Years cards and see Kabuki Theater!  Event is included in the price of admission.  Saturday, January 10th, 11:30am to 4pm.  Visit http://pem.org for a full schedule of events.

Dan Grady and his Marvelous Marionettes will take the stage this weekend.  They will roller skate, walk the tightrope, and dance, all expertly choreographed and set to wonderful music.  No child will leave disappointed.  Tickets are $10 for adults and $8 for kids and you can buy them here.  Saturday, January 10th, 10:30am.  Regent Theater, 7 Medford Street, Arlington.
