Your guide to activities and fun things to do with your preschoolers, toddlers and kids in Boston, MA

If you didn't find any event that tickled you in my last New Year's post, do not fear as there are plenty other activities that you and your family can participate in this year.  Personally, I think my family will be heading over to Needham's New Year's celebrations, since it's close to home and many of the children's programs are taking place at my favorite family center, Creative Movement.   With everything from ice sculptures and food vendors on the Town Common, to children's crafts, to fun train rides at Memorial Park, chances are there will be something for everyone.  See a Full schedule of events here.

Looking for something a little smaller in scale?  Head to Woburn's Kids Playground for an Early New Years Eve Party.  From 5 to 7pm, kids will have a chance to play on their oversized bouncy houses including their Disney Princess Castle and 32 foot long Pirate Ship, participate in games, eat pizza and ring in the New Year (a little early) with noise makers, hats, music and more.  Reservations recommended, call 781-935-2300.  15 Normac Road, Woburn. 

Borders bookstores are having a Countdown to 2009 New Years eve Kids Party!  Bring your whole family for games, crafts, and a special parade.  Locate your nearest store for details. 

Head to Foxboro's Showcase Live and take in a performance by Hip Hop Harry, the Live Show.  A live action program designed to entertain preschoolers with music and dance, your kids will LOVE this special event.   Geared for kids 3 to 6.  For tickets, click here.  23 Patriot Place, Foxboro.
